Hello Eunice, Thank you for your comment. The National Quiz competition is going to be an annual event which will happen every year after inception. Our main goal is to ensure that through this program, young people will have access to free, reliable and accurate information on Sexual and Reproductive Health. Increases recorded on viewing and listening audience from the television and radio networks will indicate a project progress. We will as well conduct surveys through social media platforms and other mediums to also measure progress. Thank you
The whole project will go through phases, with the first phase comprising of sensitization and education. This includes us organizing outreaches to selected communities, visiting both the communities and the schools within the communities. In the process, Peer educators will be trained from the various community schools and they will serve as our main contact within the communities during the project. They will also be recipient of the contraceptives and pamphlets. Materials via the drones will aid them in the performance of their duties. In the context of conflict, we believe that the alarming figures of teenage pregnancies, Sexually Transmitted Infections, Unsafe abortions, etc is causing displacement among the young population, most especially teenage girls as a result of fear of stigma and shame.
We have plans in place to measure our successes at various stages. We admit that behavioral change or acceptance of innovation takes time, as clearly explained by Rogers, 2003 in his “Innovation diffusion theory”. First of all, we will make use of surveys to access the impact of our education. We will also measure the number of calls we will receive at our Contact Centre against the number of adolescents we are able to reach both directly and through our peer educators over the period.
