Water systems are essential to the overall health of an ecosystem. The way we develop and manage agricultural, industrial and urban systems is ultimately reflected in the local watersheds we depend upon for drinking water, recreation, irrigation and wildlife. During this Challenge, participants are encouraged to identify and understand the variables that affect water quality, developing innovative solutions to monitor, analyze and manage these complex systems.
The Challenge question is:
How might we apply new technologies to make agriculture and water systems more resilient in the face of climate threats?
We see an opportunity to design solutions that incorporate cutting edge technology such as predictive data, IOT sensors and low power wide area networks. In particular, how might solutions incorporate material, information, and biological technologies that can help agricultural and water systems respond to the stresses of climate volatility.
