Dementia affects nearly 50 million people worldwide. This number is closely mirrored by family members caring for people with dementia — including spouses, children, friends, and neighbors.
The act of caregiving intensifies with the onset of complex behaviors and loss of memory. A clear understanding of the condition, knowledge of what to expect in the journey ahead, and access to qualified resources are essential in mapping out the best possible care.
This upcoming Challenge is designed to help identify the everyday hurdles in dementia caregiving and to catalyze innovative solutions for overcoming these hurdles. Challenge participants are tasked with developing tools, environments, and campaigns that support family caregivers and their loves ones with dementia.
