Each of our lives is a story. As we plan for its final chapter, we have the opportunity to incorporate our passions, unique views, relationships, and spirituality into a meaningful dying experience. How might we make this process – of living fully until the last phase of our lives – more human-centered? Let’s re-imagine how we prepare for, share and tell the final chapter of our story.
“...I am asking that we make space — physical, psychic room, to allow life to play itself all the way out -- so that rather than just getting out of the way, aging and dying can become a process of crescendo through to the end.” —BJ Miller
OpenIDEO, in partnership with Sutter Health, is inviting you to join us in an online Challenge to enhance the personal experience of dying and death through human-centered design. We're calling a global community to action – to share your stories and reflections, emotions, spiritual perspectives, and other personal contributions related to dying. Then, collaboratively, we’ll create solutions that reimagine the end of life experience.
“Our ultimate goal, after all, is not a good death but a good life to the very end.” ― Atul Gawande, Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End
