Redefining Education in the Developing World
BRAC's mission is to empower people and communities in situations of poverty, illiteracy, disease and social injustice. Our interventions aim to achieve large scale, positive changes through economic and social programs that enable men and women to realize their potential.
'Floating schools' in Basulta was an interesting initiative that opened seven schools for indigenous local sea gypsy children. With seven schools, it is estimated that up to 40,000 out-of-school children will benefit from the Floating Learning Centers this school year.
