Village to Village Health Campaign- To provide Child Healthcare

The campaign comprises a child health package which includes: Health package and Training package. Some of the activities to be carried out include Immunization, Antenatal Care and micro nutrient supplementation (Vitamin A) as well as conducting trainings about health and health related problems in the community. - An investment in knowledge pays the best interest. It will comprise using Community teachers as agents of change.

Since most low-income earners stay in the villages, the campaign will aim to reach out to the parents in the rural areas. Not only mothers but also relatives who look after the young ones. 
The campaign will aim at promoting quality health service delivery and healthy practices in the community. "Healthy body, Healthy mind"

Campaign consists of the following packages:

Health package
will include:
-Provision of immunisation services, micro nutrient supplementantion (vitamin A) and albendazole to children. Also includes physical checkup for the child.
-Provision of Antenatal and Postnatal Care to mothers

Training package
-Training sessions will be based on prevention of early childhood illnesses.
-Encouraging mothers and their children to seek medical attention as soon as possible.
-Mothers will be informed about the prevailing conditions that cause retardation in children.

The community members will be the the health educators since they best know how they can improve the community using different approaches and ideas. Community members as agents of change in the comunity.

Village to Village Health Campaign = Healthy Child!

Who will benefit from this idea and where are they located?

Beneficiaries are parents with children 5 years and below and antenatal and postnatal mothers located in rural Migeera, Nakasongola district in Uganda.

How could you test this idea in a quick and low-cost way right now?

Through consulting experts who have conducted research about impact of unhealthy on Child's development. Welcoming comments from social media when the idea is shared. Conducting simple survey to collect information from beneficiaries about the the approach

What kind of help would you need to make your idea real?

I welcome expert advice on how i can improve the approach. Suggestions on how we can engage the beneficiaries to create a sense of ownership of the idea. Suggestions on how each of the following packages in the idea can be improved to suit the beneficiaries

Is this an idea that you or your organization would like to take forward?

Change A Life Uganda (the organisation) will be behind the campaign.

The resources in the area include; Village health teams that have the expertise to implement the proposal and also Village health centres where training sessions are to be conducted.

Feed back will be collected from village health teams and field educators who make frequent visits to the families.
Some of the feed back will be collected during routine trainings conducted in the villages.
