Teach Empathy to Kids
As families struggle just to put food on the table, and the education system focuses mainly on academics, empathy is the missing ingredient lost in the shuffle that isn't being taught and sorely needs to be taught to all children.
There are too many news stories about kids that act without empathy towards others they victimize. To stop this trend, we need to educate children to feel empathy. What's the use of having well-educated, productive, smart citizens who are not kind towards one another?
And it's not just simply 'unkind', it's gone to the extreme of being dangerous. In the Bronx, kids bullied other kids who had moved from Senegal, beating them up, injuring them badly, and saying to them "Ebola!"
Here are two programs that we should help get expanded to all schools in America:
Roots of Empathy:

How could you test this idea in a quick and low-cost way right now?
It's already being done -- so just expand what's being done already to the whole country.
Is this an idea that you or your organization would like to take forward?
This idea is meant to inspire. I hope someone else takes it on!
