What specific problem(s) are you trying to address? (300 character limit)
Access to SRHR information and services has been limited by factors including the myths and misconceptions around SRHR and the lack of a platform for young people to provide feedback on the services that they are accessing when they have the correct information and have been linked to services.
What are some of your unanswered questions about the problem(s) you are working to address? (500 character limit)
1. Given the contribution is internet based, how can this service be extended to young people in the rural areas with limited or no internet access but need this information and these services?
2. How do we ensure that the feedback provided by the young person through this platform is used and leads to progress?
3. What are other tangible metrics of success other than numbers reached?
Who are your end users? (1000 character limit)
Given this is a web-based idea for young people aged including pre-adolescents, adolescents and young adults (10-35) and it will most likely reach those in more urban settings with access to internet. In October 2015 the mobisite on which the idea will build on had 3,147 users, and 8,936 page views. An online Youth Engagement Platform, “TuneMe”, launched in 2016 exists in Zambia and its a mobisite designed to improve young people’s access to SRHR information and increase linkage to services. Currently the internet-based platform provides information, service find and a tip sharing section. The contribution would be to add 2 components; Debunk the Myth – a section that debunks the myths and misconceptions around SRHR & Rate your H.C (Health Center) to rate the services and provide comments
What is your value proposition? (500 character limit)
Debunk the Myth will engage schools and the general public and facilitate a conversation on SRHR for young people and provide access to correct information whilst debunking the myths.
Rate your H.C will i) increase social accountability ii) provide a platform to give feedback iii) understand the met and unmet needs of sub-groups including out-of-school adolescents, youths with disabilities, key populations, etc and ideally improve service provision and utilization.
