THE BRIDGE OF HEALTH KNOWLEDGE (For The Young People and by the Young People)
A school based project plan to improve SRH knowledge and service access in the northern part of Bangladesh
The current scenario is well introduced by this picture. We have a smart group of students in the city but the number isn't that high. On the other hand, a high density of rural students do not know very basic things about sexual and mental health.
Opportunity Areas – Select those that apply
What specific problem(s) are you trying to address? (300 character limit)
Almost 65% of our children read in remote village schools and only 35% read in city area. Only this criterion of being raised in two different places we are going to have a generation possessing very discriminational knowledge about everything including Sexual and Mental health.
Main problems of our end users
Basic questions we are sorting out
Rural student's condition
City students advantages
What are some of your unanswered questions about the problem(s) you are working to address? (500 character limit)
1. We are targeting a very young age (12-18). In this age of our end users how may we connect ourselves with them more friendly?
2. Will we work it out to create the bridge of knowledge that easily?
3. How will react the guardians of the city school students? They normally do not let their children to pass any time without reading. Will they approve to take their children in our team?
4. How will we provide products to village students? What will be the system? From where we will provide those?
Who are your end users? (1000 character limit)
We have three system of school and college in our country. Those are general govt education, religious education (madrasha) and private school education. The ratio may be showed as 5:2:3. These students from govt, private and religious schools and colleges will be out end users. In these three category there is a division of location - City and village. We are connect this two ends and build a self dependent system where there will a continuous flow of information and accessable health service.
The difference is unacceptable between the city students and village students in every sector. In our general test of 10 questions about SRH both in city area and village area we have found that city 56% of city students knew every answers and surprisingly 72% of the village students knew nothing! Not any single idea about what really things are.
Explain your idea. (500 character limit)
Our idea is to make an app about SRH,build campaign in city schools and colleges, let them know things from the app.In the app there will be also test. From the test we will select"Health Master"from every schools and colleges. Thus Master Team will make the information flow towards village area.We will select 100 village schools first. Then we will apply the model to reach every students. To the village students we will reach through the teacher who own a smartphone. At end we connect both ends.
Key steps of our project plan
What is your value proposition? (500 character limit)
Young users always wants something new and in this era, our city school college students want to represent themselves in other sector alongside good academic record. Our #HEALTH-MASTER recognition will surely attract to participate and to spread. As also nobody made an approach towards themselves about their SRH health this idea of ours will be welcomed as we predict.
At the other end, the village pupils will be attracted as the teacher will be their same aged, they will find it friendly.
What's different about your idea compared to current solutions? (500 character limit)
The current solutions that are being taken aren't that sustainable in our community. A small seminar or a lecture won't really help. There is a stigma in our society. We can't talk about sexual and reproductive health openly. Teacher does not tell the students anything in the class. It is an irony that our children watches porn first before knowing even the sex organs.
However the proposal I have given will be more effective by doing more Human Centered researches.
What are the key reasons why end users would turn to your organization over another?
Newness: Satisfying a new set of needs
What would success look like for your end users? (500 character limit)
1. Students are overcoming the stigma about talking SRH. They are discussing about problems and solutions. They are debating on this topics. City students feels proud to be a Health Master.
2. Anyone having problem needs a solution or a service is being provided by the community. Adolescent girls facing complexities will be helped by nearest expert.
3. City - village debate and essay competitions, representatives summit, and exchange programs about sexual and reproductive health.
