What specific problem(s) are you trying to address? (300 character limit)

Lack of awareness about reproductive health services/commodities among young fishermen, inaccessibility to reproductive health services by the young fishermen and insufficient knowledge of the health workers in the sturdy area regarding reproductive health.

What are some of your unanswered questions about the problem(s) you are working to address? (500 character limit)

Who are the highly affected group as far as reproductive health is concerned? Where are these individuals located? What reproductive health services are they lacking? Why are they unable to access reproductive health services?

Who are your end users? (1000 character limit)

My end users will be young fishermen (mainly adolescents) living around remote areas where fishing is carried out. The rest of the community in the study area such as health workers will benefit as well. They will benefit by; easily accessing the reproductive health services, gaining knowledge through counseling for example on HIV and , get testing, treatment and care support. Benefits include; HIV counseling and testing, Pregnancy testing, Sexually Transmitted Infections testing and treatment,condoms, contraceptive pills, maternity care, post abortion care, and care for victims of sexual violence. They live around a fishing site called Katosi (a remote area in the Eastern part of Uganda). They are mainly Adolescents of between 13-19years of age. The intervention will realistically reach at least 700-1000 young fishermen. A typical user in this context will be any young person (13-19 years) in the sturdy area who will who will accept to be sensitized and accepts the services.

My all idea is increase accessibility of the young fishermen to reproductive health services. The idea will work through first sensitizing the group and then introducing them to the services. The situation in which i found the end users was alarming which triggered me.

The product will create value through; Reducing health risks related to reproductive health. Reduction in maternal deaths. Reducing abortions. Reducing the rate at which infections such HIV and sexually transmitted infections are spread.

What's different about your idea compared to current solutions? (500 character limit)

My will be more successful and different because am going to introduce certain tactics such as; introduction of games like soccer, volley ball, net ball and basket ball. and at the end of which i will organize some music aim at attracting many of the young people in the area there by increasing on the turn up.

Assessing the rate at which infections spread , abortions and young maternal deaths after the reproductive health intervention and i will compare them with the situation before the interventions.

since it's well known that the youth are normally fond of sports like soccer, these will help attract a big number of them. the information will then be passed to them as they gather for sports and then will be enrolled.
