Medical Legal Partnership for Seniors Clinic
In the Medical-Legal Partnership for Seniors Clinic (MLPS), UC Hastings students develop key lawyering skills through representation of low-income elderly patients at a UCSF medical clinic.
Attended the American Society on Aging Conference this past March and came away super inspired. My professional work includes exploring how different programs and services collaborate with each other and how they sustain their programs. One of the sessions presented on Medical-Legal Partnerships (MLPS), where law students gain valuable experience assisting clients in legal issues related to health, such as advance health care planning, estate planning, and public benefits.

Similar to many other service learning projects through collaborations with universities and the local community, I'm inspired by students, in need of relevant professional experience jumping in to help close service gaps to our underserved communities.
