A mentorship program is a good way to open up yourself into something new!
My very first experience of doing this kind of mentorship program was during my sophomore year in university. I was in the student council that was responsible for the new students' orientation by giving the tips and trick on how to survive the campus life for them. Every year, there is always an excitement for the sophomore year students to participate in this orientation program as it will give us more opportunities to meet new-and-brilliant-people that might be good network for future careers. And my relationship as the mentor for the younger students is still counting up to this day. We always keep everyone's updated. At the end, it really feels good when I found out that everything I have shared is something useful.
A mentorship program has helped me, who is an introvert person, to connect with new people and be part of bigger network. Since it is done in small groups, and more in personal ways, I might feel that it is more relax and comfortable to share and exchange our thoughts.
The other positve things about this kind of mentorship program, based on my experience, it really helps me to deal with patience and the communication skills.
