EXPLAIN YOUR IDEA

In Rwanda, the number of unemployed graduates is increasing every years. Every year,Secondary schools , colleges and universities recruit. Job announcements are few and affordable by those who studied PHD, Master’s degrees and those who have much working experiences. Unemployed youth are crying. In addition, Law graduates as a specific group, cannot be allowed to join BAR association nor working in courts and some related posts without studying ILPD ( Institute of Legal Practice and Development ); they can be employed without certificate from ILPD, no Jobs, their legal application is almost unavailable. The problem is that ILPD is more expensive (1,500,000 Frw). It is only affordable by those who are rich. In addition to that, the employers think that if a person does not have some years of working experience, PHD and Master’s degrees cannot be effective and productive. This statement is false. YOPLES As a social enterprise, will train them and help them to get employed either within YOPLES (provisional according to the merits), every round will form a cooperative to work for themselves and then recruit a new round, continuously.Even others can start their own businesses. It is new because, no other institution does so. other vocational schools, only teach and leave the student go without income to start their own. YOPLES will not let the trainees go without jobs but it will help them to form cooperatives. YOPLES mostly base on the passion rather than academic background

WHO BENEFITS?

Young Africans; who are jobless or unemployed and vulnerable law graduates. The mission of YOPLES is to contribute to the social economic transformation of young Africans especially unemployed youth by imparting practical marketable skills through rigorous Technical training and education. What makes YOPLES very special is that other vocational schools, only teach those who studied but here, even people who don’t know to read are allowed to be enrolled and vulnerable law graduates recognition.

TELL US MORE ABOUT YOU

We are non-profit organisation ;Young economist and lawyers who are committed to put our skills and life experience together to help the youth to get employed by using their academic backgrounds and skills. We are working with Rwandan local organisations but we still need other collaborators.

WHERE WILL YOUR IDEA BE IMPLEMENTED?

  • Rwanda

EXPERIENCE IN IMPLEMENTATION COUNTRY(IES)

  • Yes, for more than one year.

EXPERTISE IN SECTOR

  • I’ve worked in a sector related to my idea for over a year

HOW HAS YOUR IDEA CHANGED BECAUSE OF BENEFICIARY FEEDBACK?

I have found that it is not good to give all services for free but there must be a certain amount to make the institution sustainable. I also found that the best way of solution distribution is that i can also use online system so that they save their time without coming and it may also make every service easy and unique. They told me that it is not enough to give the said services without legal representation, In the entrepreneushuip, they told me to make a vocational centre whereby i can help teaching practical skills not only teaching in words but also they need where they may practice their learned skills.

HOW IS YOUR IDEA UNIQUE?

My idea is unique because we will be helping people offline and online. We will follow the trainees and give jobs to the best 3o performing trainees and others will be divided into cooperatives . will be having moot court shows as a commercial unique show in Rwanda. In addition, no other institution that teaches all accounting software and legal drafting as well as electronic filing systems in Rwanda.

WHY DO YOU THINK THAT THE PROBLEM YOUR IDEA SOLVES FOR HAS NOT BEEN SOLVED?

It was not solved because there are may graduates having no job, specifically, almost all poor law graduates are home without jobs. In addition, access to justice is still a challenge in rural areas . There are districts where there is none that knows how to file a legal case online. It takes a long distance to get those services. No any other institution providing the same complete services. No any other institution that cares on Law graduates.

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR UNANSWERED QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS IDEA?

Electronic filing systems are not known in rural areas. Law graduates cannot get a job without having ILPD certificate none cares on them and no loan for them. No place where accounting software are accessible and thought in professional ways. No institution teaches legal drafting.

IS THIS IDEA NEW FOR YOU OR YOUR ORGANIZATION?

Yes my idea is new because Every aid provided will be done either online and offline whereas we used to enjoy only offline legal and entrepreneurship services. Moot courts shows as cinema are new in this region. unemployed graduates will be facilitated to form cooperative by providing the skills they will be trading.

WHO WILL IMPLEMENT THIS IDEA?

I will have the first place to implement, My design team will, also have an important role in implementation. AJPRODHO JIJUKIRWA (ONG) will, help me to train trainees in legal drafting in professional ways. K-Technologies LTD will train trainees in software installation and use. FERWABOBO will also help in advertsement of our services though playing.

YOPLES is committed to teach the Young Africans about job creation to reduce unemployment. Most of the youth graduate and last for a long time without jobs. therefore they choose to do unlawfull businesses punishable by the law and finally they end up being jailed. YOPLES comes as a good solution as it will inspire young enterpreneurs and teach them about how they may create their own businesses to employ themselves and employ other youth. We will also teach related laws in force so that they cannot engage themselves within the activities punishable by the law. To start business requires idea and passion before income. Youth should use their academic backgrounds or skills to start up their own businesses. aVulnerable law graduates hould get money to go to study in ILPD. None elso thought the same idea except, YOPLES.

SHARE ONE SENTENCE ABOUT THE IMPACT YOU WOULD LIKE THIS PROJECT TO HAVE FIVE YEARS FROM NOW, AND ONE QUESTION YOU NEED TO ANSWER TO GET THERE.

In 5 years , i wish that YOPLES will have reached beyond 200,000 people and have provided jobs to 10,000 persons by providing skills to be traded within the cooperatives we will be making round by round. The question i need to answer to get there, is "How will it be done to involve a great number?"

MY ORGANIZATION'S OPERATING BUDGET FOR 2015 WAS:

  • Under $100,000

MY INTENDED BENEFICIARIES ARE:

  • Within 50 km of where our team does most of its work

HOW LONG HAVE YOU AND YOUR COLLEAGUES BEEN WORKING ON THIS PILOT PROJECT TOGETHER?

  • More than a year

WHY ARE YOU INTERESTED IN JOINING AMPLIFY'S PORTFOLIO OF INNOVATORS?

I would like to join Amplify's portfolio because, i need to make a remarkable impact in Africa by reducing the unemployment and create opportunity for Young Africans. i like to know more about doing social business, facilitation and coaching as well as any support that can be provided to help my social enterprise grow and reach more than 100, 000 people within 2 years.

This picture shows how i was sitting home thinnking about the present problem of unemployement among the seconday and university graduates. I thoungh of designing a solution that may impact a great number of unmeployed graduates. I started to imagine what i can do. After i had an idea of initiating YOPLES.

This method of forming cooperatives and companies for our trainees is unique and it will help everyone to use the acquired skills. Others train and let the trainees go. It will help to help them build their capacities and to be coach them. It will, also help to guide and collect them as well as facilities providence. YOPLES will be their mother institution. Every promotion will form cooperative or company.this is a pre-requirement to be trained. If one promotion goes to form a cooperative we will train another new promotion will supervising the formed cooperative. This cycle is also unique.

Thank you Takamine. The activities that i plan to implement most of them already started. YOPLES provides training about applicable skills in legal and entrepreneurship domains. In legal domains, we train unemployed poor law graduates about legal drafting of contracts, statutes of associations etc . These law graduates also provide legal consultancy and legal aid. In entrepreneurship domains we train other remaining graduates to make lamps in horns and welding ( making chairs, tables, ornaments etc.). Very soon we are going to start making selling the first well done products. I plan that, as we will be keeping training new comers, every promotion will form its own cooperative to use the acquired knowledge for making their own money and pay some amount monthly to YOPLES. In five years i plan to have impacted 20,000 unemployed graduates and help them start their own businesses but the most performing students will be employed within YOPLES. Our long-term vision is to create a vocational training center that will be always making cooperatives and companies for its students to monitor them. This program is unique from others because, they train and let the students go to search jobs for themselves. sometimes they remain home while they have that skill.I will make sure that everyone of our trainees will be employed himself or by the common company or cooperative. YOPLES will be drafting for free their statutes and other legal documents. We will be helping them to get registered and to implement.

Hi Abraham and Team! Amplify and our experts have some comments and questions for you - we encourage you to think about this feedback as you continue to improve and refine your idea.

-What are the activities that you plan to implement?
-How is your program unique from others?

In case you missed it, OpenIDEO and Amplify hosted a Storytelling Office Hour - https://youtu.be/g0gZRR6T9tA. Storytelling is an incredibly useful tool to articulate an idea and help make it come to life! Don't forget - December 18th is your last day to make changes to your idea on the OpenIDEO platform.

Looking forward to reading more!

We are not profit driven but we are driven by impact that YOPLES will have in African Societies. To make YOPLES sustainable, we will not rely on grants; there is a means of generating income to make the organisation sustainable

It is great! That is a good solution to many law graduates but try to involve others . You did well as you connected entrepreneurship and laws!

I enjoy this idea. I think ignorance of the law will be reduced, unemployed law graduates will be reduced, rural citizens will get access to justice easily on cheap price. I think this is really amazing. You can include the program of legal practice for graduates. It is better to serve the community but they must pay some amount on the lower price. In addition, you should be specific on the lessons to be taught in the vocational training. You can focus on the legal and entrepreneurship related skills to be provided within YOPLES.

That is good my brother. I really appreciate this program. Most of law graduates unable to study in institute of legal practice stay home without jobs and not allowed to enter in BAR association. As a suggestion, you can also train other graduates in your Entrepreneurship programs about updated ICT because they can also serve in your organisation.
