Based off of the idea that coding can work to create both local and international virtual employment opportunities, Actualize Coding Bootcamp is offering it's first 12 week training session in Kigali!
Feedback from beneficiaries right now suggests students are learning solid skills that lead to employment, and are connecting with employers daily. Students are also setting up apprenticeships that will lead to creating portfolios and relationships with employers that lead to lasting, sustainable work. The feedback from instructors is that the students are on par with international standards, and they will likely meet the 90% employment rate of other bootcamp participants.
We are hopeful that this early proof of concept will also be successful in refugee camps--if we are given the opportunity to plan with IDEO--where employment opportunities are extremely limited.
