EXPLAIN YOUR IDEA

We don’t believe in the traditional view on our workplace. Until today, our traditional workplace requires certain skills and competencies of employees, but does this still fits within our new social and economic model? And what do the jobs of the future look like? WeForWork -WeForTalent starts from the individual, the person working within the story. From this story, partners, experts and participants analyze their passions and experiences, as well as current jobs and work environments to gather new ideas about our work, the skills required and available platforms and tools. The young people get all the space and resources to their project on future workstations and platforms (digital, physical or hybrid) to develop a working prototype in which they combine their passion, talents and needs into a project. WeForWork - WeForTalent aims to work with young people to develop 21st century skills (entrepreneurial skills, cross cultural skills and digital skills) and work themselves on their future. Through intervention we try to find youngsters' passion and what they really love. Everyone has his /her talent and that is useful in the creative labs: in small teams participants develop the plans for a project and work on it in the design labs. If the teams are really crazy about their projects, our coaches are ready to support them further. We also work with a train the trainers principle: once a youngster has developed some skills, he/she can start to coach others.

WHO BENEFITS?

This project is set up for youngsters from 18- 30 years old living in Nairobi. We want to work with a train the trainer system: the youngsters we reach with this project will benefit as they can follow the process and they will be able to train new youngsters, who can also benefit. How? 1. They will be able to discover and work from their talents 2. They will empower themselves by creating and developing the project they're passionate about 3. They will train/coach new youngsters

We For Work aims to teach young people develop 21st century skills and work themselves to their future.

Through intervention we try to find your passion and what you really love. Everyone has his /her talent and that is useful in the creative lab: in small teams forge your plans for a project that you are in a design lab working. Are you a team crazy about your project? Then our coaches are ready to support you further.

INTERVENTION

--> SHOW YOUR TALENT TO THE OTHER MARKET

Based on your qualifications companies and organizations today evaluate whether you are suitable for the job and fit the company. You do not always get the opportunity to introduce yourself, giving your real talent may remain under the radar.

We turn the tables and put your talent central to our mobile market stall. We listen to your story, what you do really like and where you're just super good. We print your talent on a poster and let you show it off in our photo gallery. If you want, you can talk about your passion in a video or podcast. Or how about 10 seconds or Snapchat fame? Do not be shy and motivate other young people to show their talent.

CREATIVE LABS

--> FUTURE FROM DREAM TO IDEA OF THE FUTURE

During the Creative Lab everyone's talent is handy. Here you brainstorm in small teams on your future workplace, how and with whom you would love to work: you all work in a virtual reality or still socializing in the same space? And what tools or people are indispensable to you?

Each team consists of a mix of enthusiastic young people and experts in the field of design, development, research and strategy. Our experts share their knowledge and experience, thinking, and you are never too old to learn self young talent. Together you work on your own project idea that immediately is given a name and a logo.

DESIGN LABS

 --> CO-CREATION OF PROTOTYPE

Here you make the idea for an object, website, app, service ... into a prototype. Our experts assist you in implementing and defining the strategy so that you get a realistic picture of your concept.

Ready? Pitch your prototype in a short and clear video and tell the world how your idea adds to our future work. Which challenge did you see and how did you solve this? What makes your idea unique and what do you have to continue to work on? Be yourself, be passionated and be enthousiastic!

COACHING & FOLLOW-UP

--> SUPPORT TO COMPLETION

Do you want to acces the market with your prototype, or do you want to go to businesses?

If this is a YES, our coaches will advice you during three months in the areas of administration, organization, project management, communication and finance.

Become more confident and go to possible employers more enthousiastic. You and your talents have been a vital link in the realization of the prototype and that's something to be proud of. Our coaches help you to tell your story. Who knows employers call you and not vice versa.

Hi Hendrikje,
this is really rich - I love that so many things are packed together in your idea: rethinking the workplace for 21st skills with a focus on life skills is very inspiring.
We totally agree with your view on the 21st century skills: entrepreneurial skills, cross cultural skills and digital skills are at the core of the holistic training we provide to our trainees (who in turn train other Young people in remote communities).
I am sure that your project is going to generate a lot of knowledge
