EXPLAIN YOUR IDEA

The idea is to develop a very simple app through which the end-consumers of vegetables and fruits will be connected to respective local farmers so that orders can be placed. Once orders are placed, the farmers use local youths as delivery men/women. The idea affords the youth employment opportunities, reduces food wastes, eradicates the use of food packaging and increases the farmers profits.

WHO BENEFITS?

Youth: The youth will get sustainable employment opportunities. Farmers: They will get directly get connected with end consumers and therefore they will enjoy greater profits on their produces and also the need for packaging will be eliminated. Furthermore, there will reduced food wastage as vegetables and fruits will be harvested only when orders are placed for them. End-Consumers: They will get fruits and vegetables at reduced prices due to direct purchasing from farmers.

EXPERTISE IN SECTOR

  • I’ve worked in a sector related to my idea for over a year

The idea is to use a very simple mobile phone application that will enable end-consumers of fruits and vegetables to book their demands for fruits and vegetables directly from farmers.

The working of the idea may be as following:

-The end-consumers will use a simple mobile phone application to get the rates for different fruits and vegetables from local/nearby farmers.

-After deciding on the rate(s), the customers book their orders and send confirmations.

-The farmer(s) will receive the orders and harvest the quantity ordered.

-The farmer(s) will hire young boy(s)/girl(s) to deliver the orders to the end-consumers.

-The delivery boy/girl will deliver the orders at the address of the end-consumers and receive payments for it(if payments is not done online).

In a single trip, many orders may be fulfilled by the delivery a single boy/girl depending on the size of the order(s)
