XinCheJian, the first of many Hackerspaces in China, is one of the many hundreds Hackerspaces all around the world.  it’s mission is to support, create and promote physical computing, open source hardware and Internet of Things. To achieve this, XinCheJian has talks, discussions, projects, startups promotion, workshops, competition organisation and our own participation in international competitions…

Along with other Hackerspaces in China, XinCheJian has  been faced with the same question: how can our children participate? So they are answering…

This “Young Makers Open Day” youngsters were able to see all kinds of fun they've had at XinCheJian in the last year, chopsticks the robot, the crazy mousetrap, play with conductive dough, see the magic cap line patrol car, children’s programming software, DFRobot presents their bomb disposal game with many many more things to see and do, people can also chat with some of the people behind XinCheJian and meet like minded people. They also prepared a few workshops to get kids started , “Soldering Workshop”, “ultra-light clay Workshop”.

XinCheJian along with the great people from Techyizhu also prepared the spaghetti bridge challenge – a classic project, that teaches team building skills, builds character, introduces problem solving challenges and is also a fun competition to take part in. Parents were welcome to join in and were expected to get their hands dirty, they can also learn something new.

I'm expecting to see more of this kind of events in Shanghai, which will bring a good deal of fun, education and allow everyone to explore.

Great to see such an inspiring event being posted twice!
I also find both of the narratives very complementary.

I agree with Anne-Laure: if things pop up more than once, it in a way shows how interesting they can be for challenges. Would be great if the two can be connected. There's an instruction on how to do that in the user forums: http://bit.ly/L2m9Ux

You can link it from your inspiration. Instructions on how to do that are behind the link in my previous reply. The link will be shown in both inspirations. Lei can do it as well.
