When choosing subjects at school its not always clear how the skills you pick up will be useful in a job, or what careers you might be unlocking by studying particular things. Why not describe jobs by the school subjects that support them?
SUBBY is a mobile application which contextually connects qualified graduates/youth with eager employers through the use of job criteria, geo-location and qualification matching with incentive on both sides to participate.
Most starters feel what they learned in the school is quite different with the jobs in enterprises. Either is the knowledge taught out of date or are the students short of practical experience. Why not open the second class against such gaps?
Use music, with storytelling and humor, to teach professional soft skills. In this initiative, record labels invite street kids, store managers, and professionals to have major artists re-tell their stories through music.
Contextualize modern heroes - scientists, artists, entrepreneurs - for kids through their own youthful exploits, and use interactive web experiences to inspire readers to follow in their footsteps with activities they can do today.
From the outside any industry can be daunting. Why not remove some of the mystique by sharing stories from the inside, and even better, how about the horror stories that we all have. It helps to remind everyone that we were all inexperienced once.
There's a rising tide of entrepreneurism around the world at the moment, with people deciding to grow the jobs & companies which must exist to create the change we want to see in the world. Breed entrepreneurial spirit for World Changing Business!
An hour is an hour is an hour, regardless of whose time it is. Why not apply time banking to work experience internships? Young people can give their time helping at the workplace, while professionals give theirs too.
A Flowcycle is DIY learning for school students; It empowers them to design their own learning. There are 4 phases: LEARN BY LIFE -> LEARN TO THINK -> LEARN TO LEAD -> LEARN BY DOING Each phase encourages 'Flow': a state of total immersion in a task.
What if companies hired people to the company, not to a specific job and the new hire rotated through departments/projects for a set period of time. At the end of 2-years, they could be offered a permanent position.
Apprenticeships once were common and often the only path to a career, however now that concept has been confined to work often considered blue collar. It is time for the idea of an Apprentice to apply to all areas of work.
Let's create global platform with courses. It could be closed cycle created by:
- Business, where the requirements for concrete positions would be defined,
- Universities, where courses would be created
- Young People, who will learn
Young people can apply for a microcredit that allows them to advertise themselves to companies. Companies pay only X% (1/3 to 2/3) of the person's salary. When a permanent job is found, the microcredit is paid back + mentorship of next jobseeker.
