TryMe

Most times, entering the market is difficult because you have no chance to properly demonstrate your skills. The only thing people go after is your CV, and that does not do you justice, or show who you truly are.

By creating a new friction-less system for the job market, we give employers the chance to seek for competence without the fluff. We aim to bridge the gap between employers and job seekers.

It also gives people a possibility to showcase their true potential without having to rely on past experience or education...

Great video Fabiola! When you mention above the people wouldn't have to rely on their past experience – how do imagine someone would be motivated hire them (eg. the copywriter in your example) if they had no experience listed? Keen to know more and excited to hear from others here too. Looking forward to seeing more of you on OpenIDEO.

Thank you! Well, the whole point is to even out the opportunities, and let talent/work speak for itself - through ratings and stars. This is simply the beginning of the concept, meaning it's meant to be expanded into a platform for employers seeking talents, but most importantly - most jobs are landed through connections. TryMe will give you the opportunity to expand your network, and meet people face to face. In other words, it gives people a tool to get their foot in the door, no matter what field. Also, the real-time aspect allows you to be there faster than anyone else, setting you apart in that way. Did that fully answer your question? Let me know if not, I'm glad to have a discussion about it.

A really fresh and disruptive concept - I was just wondering about how you would break through barriers such as firms' privacy, security and some sort of "sanity checks" for the work-seeking. In this regard, you may be interested in how TaskRabbit's founder interviewed all potential workers in advance to avoid pitfalls and ensure high standards.

Yes, that's exactly how I imagine it would work. A video interview process to make sure the person is who he claims to be online. Access to Facebook, Twitter etc. for full transparency.
