Creating a Personal USP
Our idea is all about finding the right human resource for your business team that tackles the problem of recruitment process by finding out the USP (Unique Selling Proposition) in the person to be hired for a job role.
Well, the answer lies in simply creating the "USP" by realizing the skill-set match to everyday jobs done by the individuals.
Recruitment becomes easy if the USP is identified - For this to happen the recruiter must be knowledgeable about the possible best fit USPs matching the job profile. Simply state your USP and the recruitor is an intelligent system that matches with your provided keyword.
When I was watching a Bloomberg interview of the VP of LinkedIn, I noticed that his qualification was in Chemical Engineering and then he did a masters at Harvard and ventured many activities in various sectors esp in the Chemical industry and now he is the VP of LinkedIn? .... Well, the recruiter is intelligent as he/she has seen the USP of Leadership etc in him. There are N number of examples that I can state from a start-up to giant organizations like Google, Yahoo, Pixar, GE etc.. The end result to notice is that people are hired because of their USP and how well they can sell themselves. That is why it will succeed!
My question for you is that how can we tag/name the USP in youth.Does one needs to be a great observer to help the unemployed?
Help me case this out... Uh huh so what is your USP?
The biggest take here is for the employers:
1. Employers will get the job done even if the hired recruit is not qualified to do so but he carries the USP that the employer mainly wants.
2. Employers are willing to spend 3 billion dollars on the hiring process and by doing so they can reduce on the expenditures. $3 Billion, a lot of money :|
n many more to build on
Whats it for the unemployed?
1. Unemployment rate will come down per country
2. Minimal education is necessary and will create intrinsic motivation in literacy
3. Hands-on experience in the shared collaboration market but with no required skill set for doing the same job done by a skilled person.
Ex: A cobbler can make branded shoes too and at the same time stitch clothes as he has built a USP in stitching shoes.
n many more to perceive.
EXPERIMENTS:
Experiment 1: Facebook call outs for "USP" detection
A viral message which says "Sell your talent"
Results : Two interesting keywords - BLISSCIPLINE and TECHNITIATE as dated on 8/7/2014
Experiment 2: In one word tell me about you
This will help us identify the keyword match to define the USP that this person is carrying.
Experiment 3: Make it game like to trick the person and observe the qualities on which he tricks you back. For Ex: He tricks you back with negotiations as you are trying to sell him your furniture. You identify his "negotiation" skills. SIMPLE!!
Tell me about your ideas in the comments....
Who does this idea benefit, who are the main players and what's in it for them?
The idea benefits the unemployed person and the employer. Age group starting from teens to seniors can be recruited if the recruiters look for "the USP" matching the requirements. How is your idea specifically increasing access to employment opportunities and pathways for young people?
USP... USP... USP.... That is the keyword for us here! Youth deliver maximum when the arena is more game like and designed well. It is not simply about young minds but also with all age groups. We always make a choice of clean furnished room over dirty dark room when given a choice. Everyone love to be comfortable and happy. It is the choice we make that helps us keep pathways open for our future. By identifying the USP we will be able to sync people with jobs and jobs want people who have a great USP as point of focus. What early, lightweight experiment can you try out in your own community to find out if the idea will meet your expectations?
Experiment 1: Facebook call outs for "USP" detection, Experiment 2: In one word tell me about you and Experiment 3: Make it game like to trick the person and observe the qualities on which he tricks you back. Help us to make more such experiments. What skills, input or guidance are you keen to receive from the OpenIDEO community to help you build out or refine your idea further?
More experiments, interactions, identifying USPs.... Let's begin our journey with a word and play around that word and help get a job for sustaining lives and sustaining companies. My USP is IDEATING and what's yours? The idea emerged from:
- A group brainstorm
How do you envision your idea being implemented?
- Keen to prototype it, find partners and pursue implementation
