Creating opportunities through existing resources
Any relevant organization(e.g. consulting firms, NGOs, government agencies)would research growth opportunities in various communities & would devise business plans to make use of these opportunities in any sector e.g. tourism, agriculture, technology. The establishment of businesses would be encouraged to operate within these sectors & a portion of the funds that would otherwise be allotted as unemployment benefits would be used for the startup capital & employee salaries. These businesses would hire people who are unemployed, but are actively seeking employment,to manage the business & to fill all other positions according to their skills & competences & would be prepared to train those wishing to improve their skills or acquire new skills.
Who does this idea benefit, who are the main players and what's in it for them?
This idea would benefit people who want to work but are unable to find employment due to scarcity of opportunities in their communities. It would also benefit communities with untapped resources, because it would make optimal use of the growth potential of these communities. Finally it's important to note that a portion of the funds that would otherwise be paid as unemployment benefits to people who are seeking employment would now be used productively in actually creating employment opportunities.
How is your idea specifically increasing access to employment opportunities and pathways for young people?
Such an initiative would significantly increase the opportunities for young people to to receive training and/or acquire new skills within their community.
