Use geo data about crime history to notify users with phones via text/audio/or visual alert
Another look at this idea is to think about the hardware that people carry through these dangerous places, some of which will not have the infrastructure for electricity and lighting.
I was thinking that phones are very common, and can be used as an alarm to the owner and/or the people nearby that there could be danger around. This could be in the form of a text message, and audio alert, or a flash of bright light for smartphone users.
This idea inspires me because it makes it possible to reach areas that don't have the electrical or lighting infrastructure to use the Phillips like solution.
Also, it raises questions about which phones are most used, and what type of service would be most helpful and preventative in this context for women.
