Though the content does not exaclty align with this challenge, one theme stands out: Just because you don't see an atrocity being commited, does not mean that it isn't happenning somewhere, right now. It doesn't even have to happen very far away, just far enough to be out of sight, and that distance makes all the difference. When there are attempts to bring awareness, the distance could lead to either not understanding of the context, or even outright denial. So how do we situtate people (not just on OpenIDEO, but in the community) in a context where they can understand the problem?

Great question / provocation Ashwin regarding understanding the context while developing awareness.
From some of the inspirations posted, it seems to me that what is also emerging is realizing how the issue is not so localized.
