One Second a Day
This video portrays the life of a young girl across a year, showing a one-second glimpse from each day, take a look.
Though the content does not exaclty align with this challenge, one theme stands out: Just because you don't see an atrocity being commited, does not mean that it isn't happenning somewhere, right now. It doesn't even have to happen very far away, just far enough to be out of sight, and that distance makes all the difference. When there are attempts to bring awareness, the distance could lead to either not understanding of the context, or even outright denial. So how do we situtate people (not just on OpenIDEO, but in the community) in a context where they can understand the problem?
A young girl's life gets turned upside-down in this tragic second a day video. Could this ever happen in the UK? This is what war does to children.
