The oceans are critical to our survival as a species and to life on Earth as we know it. From a human perspective, the developing world gets 40% of its protein from the Sea, we use it for commerce: shipping, for travel, the seas are a potential international security problem and a massive part of the smuggling issue.

There are many policies and ways in which the seas are regulated, but frequently they are ignored and ill-policed. We need a holistic agreement and method for bringing together the different bodies and initiatives to ensure global awareness and protection of the seas.

A large portion of our population is ignorant about the important issues of our government. And, the sources by which we gain information about the government are increasingly biased and unreliable. Social media technology is able to connect large numbers of people, communicate large amounts of information quickly, and eliminate hierarchical structures. The question is, how can we connect these resources to solve the problem of closed and apathetic democracy?

In the last years companies started to outsource manufacturing to poorer countries in order to reduce costs. And a lot of people in those poorer countries tried the opposite: they migrate to richer countries looking for better opportunities. But the rules are the opposite for them: richer countries closes the frontiers to foreign people, while poor countries opens them to companies –sometimes by relaxing taxes or laws to favor the installations of new factories. Governments have to think in the promotion of a better approach to globalization. Not to reduce production costs, but to share knowledge and allow underdeveloped countries to grow.

Technology has revolutionized the way we publish and access information. We have information, loads of it, freely available, almost a commodity now. What we need now is a revolution in making and taking optimal decisions and actions together.....

As Jonathan Haidt has so compellingly explained, the problem confounding our ability to make progress on so many of our shared challenges is the balkanization of society, and the resulting inability to even hear each other, no less understand, learn and collaborate. Might it be possible to implement a social network system that helps people on opposite sides of (political, social, economic...) issues to have a more constructive dialogue? I think so.

"The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them." Albert Einstein

The end of poverty, global warming and conflicts cannot come soon enough for the thousands who suffer daily from these events. We don’t need to wait for a global crisis to get so bad that we are forced into finding solutions. We can address the source issue now. I assert the source issue is the individual mindsets held by a large number of people, often innocently unaware (I was one). People’s mindsets form a collective perspective that keep alive man-made issues that cause suffering, take lives, and threaten the planet.

Eric Wilmot's article "How to Design for a Post-Consumption Economy" gave several insights that tie many global issues together to the possible source of the problem we should prioritize and solve first: Create floating phytoplankton flotillas/farms.

Let us prove that all wars are a direct result of misunderstanding and not conflict of interests. Let us face it friends, we the people know very little about each other still despite the technology we have, lessons of wars we waged all the knowledge we gained. It is time to provide means to eradicate that sad fact to void war and misery. Knowing a lttle about each other makes us an easy pray in many ways.

Studies show that GDP growth, after passing the point where basic needs are met, produces diminishing returns for our actual life satisfaction and happiness. Other factors, like social relations, health, meaningful work, freedom, caring for others, etc. become far more important for our overall wellbeing. However, we often continue to chase the treadmill of economic growth, at the expense of these other critical things. How do we shift from a narrow focus on economic growth (Gross Domestic Product) to a holistic pursuit of genuine wellbeing (Gross National Happiness)?

Nuclear weapon technology, even in it's early stages, killed thousands and thousands of people. As well as profoundly polluting the environment. The technology has since been developed to be even more massively deadly, has been proliferated, stolen and sold to any nation interested in tipping the balance of international power in their favor. Today nuclear weapons technology is in the hands of many nations, continually threatening to destabilize international relations and tip us into a devastatingly destructive war. Could it be possible for mankind to put an end to the development and use of this gravely dangerous technology once and for all?

There are adequate number of NGOs existing at present (2 million NGOs in India, around 40,000 NGOs operating globally, 227,000 NGOs in Russia and so on). With so many NGOs around need of the hour is to provide an improved ecosystem to existing NGOs so that they can become more efficient and productive. Trend shows that cost of raising funds is 30% i.e. 30 cents for each USD raised. Further, most of the funds are contributed through corporates and individual donors contributes relatively less amount. Is there a way in which we can increase the participation of individual donors by either changing their perception or making the process more transparent? Can we make the process more fun and involving to capture more and more youth?

The collapse of the financial markets has had a worldwide impact. Poor decisions on the part of financial institutions and consumers have lead to an economic crisis, fuelled by overconfidence in the market and investment in shakey financial products. While many of the causes and solutions to the crisis are beyond the reach of consumers, it has nonetheless highlighted the need for increased financial literacy of everyday citizens.

Corruption and mismanagement are cripling phenomena that tie thirld world countries to the ground. We need to put an end to it or limit it a great deal so that the people can collect benefits of economic potentials. I believe that no training, amount of money or military power can limit or erradicate corruption UNLESS innovative solutions and processes dedicated to fight corruption and based on new technology are put in place.

There are several charity organizations that offer child sponsorship programs allowing people to contribute monthly to provide the chosen children in poor communities with various necessities such as food, clean water, medication and educational supplies. Could it be possible for every child on Earth to be provided with a basic level of care, nutrition and education for the first, and most important, years of their life?

HOMELESSNESS The number of people living out their days in the squalid areas is now a billion. The backlog in housing in our country is almost 5 million. It is quite clear that despite good efforts, authorities will still have a hard time to keep up with the demand especially if they will not consider alternative innovative and sustainable solutions for the global problem. We are determined to accomplish this mission. But it can be done even much faster if it will be reinforced by other global leaders. Let us put it at the top of our agenda. "I can do what you cannot do, you can do what I cannot do. Together, we can make a (huge) difference." -Mother Theresa

When natural disaster strikes there is always an immediate and immense global outpouring of medical aid, food, supplies and support. Most times, this influx of aid is not accompanied by operational management and coordination through a centralized organization. Too often this results in aid transportation bottle necks, disproportionate supply surpluses, misallocation of resources, distribution delays, etc. All of this can put the most vulnerable disaster victims at greater risk and potentially cost more lives. Is there a better way to coordinate the good will, resources and energy of the global community to more efficiently and effectively bring relief to the victims of disaster?

AVAILABLE WATER FOR ALL. How to allow provision of this raw material for the whole of humanity? Each knows ( for it no need of statistics ) that water rarefies itself , that water is unevenly distributed on the globe surface and that water ( not for packaging but for detection, production and preservation ) becomes object of eager speculations. Besides this , the more an entity is rare, the better is its value, indeed its preciousness character fully come out. There is many perceptions of its preciousness some people want to guarantee its regular supply without additional constraints, others aim to treat it like any commodity or product under rough or oppressive trade conditions
