‘Just as light brightens darkness, discovering self-accomplishment can cancel out any disorder or discomfort. This is the key to creating balance and harmony in everything you do’

Let there be light – Lets you have as much natural light in a working environment as possible. Lack of sun/light in the work place can cause seasonal affective disorder, a mood disorder which people have normal mental health throughout most of the year but experience depressive symptoms in the winter, spring, summer or autumn year after year. Serious mood change when the seasons change, too much sleep and also feeling depressed are common symptoms.

What are the benefits of your concept for the individual and the employer?

Light airy environment makes you want to work and improves staff morale, lets your brain charge naturally, doesn’t give you airplane disconnection mode in a relaxed environment. Allows a person to feel connected with the natural out world whilst in a closed working environment relying on air conditioning systems, which many people do.

What might the impact of your concept be and how might it be measured?

This concept could undergo in most work places but others having to go under architectural construction. Its simple just get as much natural light in the environment as possible, this might even lead to a dip in the electric bill but most importantly it will get employees striving for success.

How might your concept be designed to scale and spread to reach as many people as possible?

Day lighting systems are proven to improve productivity in manufacturing, educational and office environments. Satisfies and improves attitudes. This should work in the majority of work places. They’re also called tubular day lighting devices, sun pipes, sun scopes, or daylight pipes. This can be applied to different types of work places. In a city like London with high buildings it would be idle for the use of light tubes in order for minimized construction work whilst saving money and energy
