Good.is is a website that compiles good news, as a counter to all of the negative news we see in traditional newspapers and other news sources. In addition to finding a wealth of positive news online, subscribers can sign up to receive an email each day with a good piece of news. Each month, they can also sign up for “30 days of good” to be prompted to do something each day, for instance February’s 30 days of good had to do with citizenship and community.
For our challenge, this makes me wonder: how might we celebrate good news stories from European web start-ups? How might we find a way to encourage the community to support web start-ups and try new ones? How might we follow the trail of web start-ups and explore the impact they’ve had on their communities (physical or virtual)?
