These types of chats have popped up in the education realm, where anyone who's interested can tune in to a hashtag at a particular time. The chats are Q&As hosted by an expert panel, who can then offer advice to people tweeting in using the hashtag.

This type of forum means no extra hurdles are in place for anyone to join. It also means knowledge can be easily retweeted out and disseminated into the wild.

Great inspiration. I'm a fan of some of these type of chats, but mainly on an 'entertainment' level, like the travel oriented #FriFotos. But what's great about that one, is that there is a vibrant community not only participating, but also collecting and curating tweets.

I like the idea of these chats serving as both informative and 'entertainment'.. so different types of participants can join.. those who are actively wanting to perhaps start a business and those (like me) interested and on the periphery.

Curation is so important!

Yes, and the fun of that is, that every curator has her own focus. Can form quite a great collective overview.
