Breaking the magic into pieces (so we can all use it)

littleBits manufactures brightly-colored, Lego-like circuit pieces that connect with magnets. Each piece has its own function (one is a switch, one is a light, one is a button, etc), and they are incredibly easy to use, without any formal training.

littleBits founder Ayah Bdeir isn't only inspiring as an entrepreneur, she's inspiring as someone who is empowering people to become entrepreneurs, themselves. By taking out the intimidating parts of prototyping, she is using technological innovation to give rise to an entire community of makers. Some littleBits users are adults who want to test out new product ideas. And some are children who are learning more about how things work through creative play. What I love about littleBits is that it is both an end and a means. Entrepreneurs who are able to achieve sustainable success with their businesses, while arming others with new and exciting tools through those ventures, are in the best position to have broad, positive impact.
