Failure gifting and applauding

In order for more people to understand the positive aspects of failure (and learn from it that is). I propose a concept of community 'gift'-giving and applauding for people and organisations that share their knowledge of failure.

In order for more people to understand the positive aspects of failure (and learn from it that is). I propose a concept of community 'gift'-giving and applauding for people and organisations that share their knowledge of failure. By encouraging people to learn from failure and share that knowledge it also helps breaking down the tabu that's related with failing. Failing is not the same as not accomplishing anything, it's the first step when you learn from it.

What kinds of resources will be needed to get this concept off the ground and scale it?

Strategic partnerships are key resources for getting this off the ground. It could be TED/TEDx, FailCon, or professionel networks.

Thanks for the build, Carl. How do you propose people share these stories? I want to prototype my TED+ concept and would welcome your thoughts.

Thanks. I've been thinking on this for some time, and would love to build an online platform for failure-sharing and applauding. I suggest something like the TED community, but where I really think this could take off is if it were to be a community for learning as well. Education built upon peoples experiences with failure.

It might also be worth adding that TED has just launched TED Ed - a platform for education: http://ed.ted.com/
