Horizontally integrating Kickstarter. Ish. Platform to solicit donors, develop relationships with them and convert them into company champions. Then turn them into testers for the new product/service, and ultimately customers.
DCTC platform develops deeper relationships with people interested in donating to a startup business, a la Kickstarter. Startups solicit funds much the way artists solicit funds on Kickstarter. The platform allows donors to be more closely involved with a startup, so they feel as though they have an emotional connection with the startup. This can be done with regular communications, updates, live chats, etc. Startups can leverage this base of enthusiastic supporters to help evangelize their company, get feedback from the donors, recruit them to test the product, leverage them in case studies, use their feedback/statistics as evidence of market traction with potential investors, turn them into paying customers, and more.
