How does your idea apply new technologies to make agriculture and water systems more resilient in the face of climate threats?

Our idea combines several conventional technologies (solar power, drill technology and ICT) along with the concept of linking local entrepreneurship to water supply. This idea makes the water system more resilient by placing more responsibility and ownership at local community level. In this sense the water-system becomes more resilient and adaptive towards the threats of climate change.

What early, lightweight experiment might you try out in your own community to find out if the idea will meet your expectations?

The idea in the current state has been implemented in Benin. Several WAPs are being installed as we speak. In essence the implementation of these installations forms the ultimate experiment.

  • Operating Business: I have fulfilled the stages of testing, undertaken a full scale roll-out, and am currently operating this idea as a business.

How do you plan to grow or scale this idea?

By finding interested investment partners, we hope to achieve larger application of the concept and increase the amount of people having access to safe drinking water.

What skills, input or guidance from the OpenIDEO community would be most helpful in building out or refining your idea?

In order to refine the idea, we would appreciate technical and content-specific input and evaluation. Besides content-specific critics, suggestions or help finding potential investment partners would be a much valued input.
