How does your idea apply new technologies to make agriculture and water systems more resilient in the face of climate threats?

Yes, most of the times, water is available in abundance in rainy season but not in drought. If large underground storage tanks can be made, the problem can be solved.

The product includes a underground structure, where water will be stored during rainy season. The structure will consist of filter that filters water regularly to keep water fresh. The water is collected by rain water harvesting. Umbrella like structures in a particular place will be placed in large numbers and connected to underground structure via pipes and powered by solar panels. When the water is required to be used in drought season, the water can be used. The whole system is powered by solar energy via solar panels. 

What early, lightweight experiment might you try out in your own community to find out if the idea will meet your expectations?

The survey is necessary before implementing in a particular area. The place of setting up of umbrella structure, tank is essential and should be close to the area where water is to be used.

  • Prototyping: I have done some small tests or experiments with prospective users to continue developing my idea.

How do you plan to grow or scale this idea?

Implementing in more and more regions and further connecting it to IOT. Thus, if a region has excess water, it can be exported to places where it is less.

What skills, input or guidance from the OpenIDEO community would be most helpful in building out or refining your idea?

The product design which is most efficient is needed, so that only energy needed is solar energy. The filtration process and structures to be used are a concern too.
