Voting while in hospital

What happens if you are in hospital over the voting period, either with advanced warning or unexpectedly?

People in intensive care or unexpectedly admitted to hospital don't always get this right. Here is an insight into exactly this by the UK based NHS.

This becomes even more poignent when you consider  psychiatric patients. Only until as recently as 2006 have mentally ill patients, by law, been given this basic human right! Considering the varying degree of severity, ranging from permanent  to temporary many patients could be wrongly overlooked. How can we help to give them a voice?

This is a great observation Peter. Absentee and early voting do not help people who are unexpectedly ill or otherwise unable to get to the poll on election day.
