Let your city Incubate

In Haarlem (the Netherlands) are several creative incubators. Small creative companies are housed in old iconic buildings(schools etc), that would otherwise be demolished. These incubators create vibrancy in the neighborhood where they are situated

In Haarlem are a lot off old warehouses, factories, schools etc. These buildings have been empty for a long period. Most of these buildings are situated in old dutch neighborhoods. These empty buildings declined over the years just as the neighborhood they are in. Local authorities, housing associates and public initiative came together in Haarlem to set up a network of incubators in Haarlem as part of the revival of the old neighborhoods and the buildings.

Example:

Klein Haarlem is one of the Incubators in Haarlem that used to be situated in the old Postal Office and now houses in one of the empty buildings of the Haarlem Historical museum. They are an creative Hub off different creative businesses. But besides their own business the members of Klein Haarlem organize a lot of social events in Haarlem. Twice a year they organize the Haarlem Fashion Market, where thye invite local Haarlem based shops and designers to sell their clothes, accessories etc.for fair prices in a lively atmosphere with music and food
