The Detroit Digital Justice Coalition is made of people and organizations who share the belief that communication is a fundamental human right. They help secure that right though common ownership and increasing access.
As technology becomes more and more central to socialization, organization and mobilization, the need for ensuring access to technology across all segments of society becomes more and more essential. The
DDJC is working toward that end through a variety of projects and programs. So far two computer centers have been opened in partnership with existing community centers, and have been reaching out to multiple generations and ethnic groups.
Their efforts aim to demystify technology and media, and empower more and more segments of the population to become producers of empowering media and community development solutions.
