EXPLAIN YOUR IDEA

Moisture produces a greater sensation of cold or heat. The wetter is the air feels cooler or hotter. A large factor in people’s thermal comfort is Humidity control. The excess of moisture in a slum can bring respiratory diseases in an unhealthy environment caused by climate change. In places like Lima - Perú and many other similar countries, where slums are on the top of hills with high humidity (93-97%) is necessary to build dry areas to control the thermal sensation and respiratory diseases. It is a must in areas where there are many children and many elderly , they are even more vulnerable populations.

Warm places <WP> is a Project that give dehumidifiers solutions environments to people in slums. It apply low price solutions that can be reply in slums where humidity is really high.

<WP> are mechanisms to suit existing spaces (homes , community premises , hospitals ) . They are panels that absorb moisture, humidity and dehumidifiers controllers powered by renewable energy. The solutions are adapted to each configuration of space and according to individual needs, teaching them how to implement the solutions and keep it.

WHO BENEFITS?

Beneficiaries are people living in settlements exposed to high humidity as children, the elderly , women and generally all .

HOW DOES YOUR IDEA TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THE CONTEXT OF URBAN SLUMS AND CLIMATE CHANGE?
