Global warming , as if ever one used this simple technology ,glass and a small vacuum ,heat pipes, low voltage solar pv powered pumps under a 100 watts. If everyone did this we could save so much Co2!
Tell us more about your climate strategy or solution (500 words)
I have been doing Solar Hot Water for many years im surprised that its not more in use?Yes it has problems but i think i have the bugs worked out as i have a working system on my home as i have used a combination of my own home made Flat plate which i think we can all build and with the beautiful Evacuated Tubes in series that i think are underestimated, unappreciated as they should work for many yrs as they really have no moving parts and the biggest secret is that it uses a Vacuum to collect and focus the heat. I also found that a little small DC pump is all u need which also gets its power from a small solar panel thats dedicated its power just for that then you are not dependent on the utility if it should go down. I have nothing to sell as im looking for others to discover the best ways to capture the Energy from the Sun as Co2 is Killing us! I offer what i have learned and open for new and other ideas. I give away my info Ideas for free on Face book and where any one can get what iv bough directly them selves.
Describe how your solution could be a game-changer for your selected Opportunity Area (100 words)
"game changer" dont like that word.Solar Hot Water takes much work, sweat and study This will not happen overnight as California usta be the leader in Solar Hot water. What happened ,not sure but i think we got lazy and lost our way and its sooo easy to use Natural gas but the Co2 is Killing us,maby not us now but our kids are sure in trouble. I have a proto type that heats all my domestic hot water and the balance heats my home. Not so well right now as its been cold and cloudy but mostly.
Explain how your idea would be implemented in Sunnyvale (700 words)
WE would set an example to all people that we can use much less Fossil fuel which is destroying our Starship" Plant Earth. Yes some people say will that looks so ugly on your house well i say is it better that when the Earth is on Fire?(which i think we kinda are now)We need to change that prospective .Small little Dc pumps that circulate the water solution so i can capture the Suns energy.Whats so important also is how to collect the energy vi heat exchanger. Sory im not a good typer or speaker as im a trades person but i have stepped up as i know we all need to do MORE!

try to get good quality proven products easily for people to buy and install them selves
so much has been done for solar electric and most do not realize that solar hot water is cheaper for product than PV panels and is 90% efficient as PV is at best 20%. Not knocking PV but
Also whats not talked about that the energy company's really do not like any Solar as they have very deep and political pockets
