Explain Your Idea

Vital Contributors Social Health Insurance Programme (VCSHIP) is Health Insurance that is taken up and paid for at the discretion of willing individuals. To cater for those Nigerians who are yearning daily for opportunity to benefit from quality, affordable and cost reducing healthcare services. To also cater for the HAVE NOT in the society through the intervention of Philanthropists and other well meaning Nigerians. The programme shall be financed from contributions made by interested individuals. Hi Evelyn, nice to have you in the Challenge! Would love to learn a little more about your pilot or prototypes for this project. What you did and what you learned, etc?

Hi Ashley,
Thank you for your interest in our project.
Our foundation carried out a survey on accessing care in the hospitals by the less privileged Nigerians, and it was discovered that so many Nigerians are not hospital friendly due to finance.
Our organization later carried out a free medical outreach in Ikeja and within a space of 4 hours, we attended to more than 300 people.
Many of them desire to go to the hospital for a proper treatment but resolved to self medication, patronage of quack healthcare practitioners in their localities, due to lack of money. This led to the birth of the VCSHIP project.
