What is the idea?

As The Little Art organizes Lahore International Children’s Film Festival each year in Lahore, and several art education initiatives for children and young people, the team realized there is also a need to create a meaningful stage for children from all backgrounds to project the critical issues children are facing in our time through the performing arts.

The Little Art works in shelter homes and organized theater workshops with homeless and marginalized children from various organizations. Based on the ideas pitched by the schools and children, the Festival team curates the plays and also supports the schools to increase the quality of the plays. The performances made in the workshops are presented in the festival.

Impact

Our various Performing Arts programs and workshops have enabled the process of psychosocial well-being of profiled and special children in marginalized communities. Many of these children who have been victims of abuse have been able to channel their emotions through drama therapy and giving them a platform to express themselves has empowered children to become confident and positive in life.
