The Outernet makes use of redundant satellite TV frequencies to broadcast a library of information to everyone on the globe. Anyone can then access the information, either via home-made receivers or by buying a 'Lantern' device from the organzation. This would be a boon for worldwide education, drastically increasing the possibilites for self-driven learning in marginalized communities. Via the Outernet, everywhere could become a learning space.
