Provide Little Gifts to Top Performers
My idea is meant to motivate students' attention in class by providing little gifts to top performers on the community level.
This young lady scored 418 over 500 in Kenyan Certificate of Primary Education. This shows what children in refugee camps are capable of, motivating them will encrease their interest in education and make much effort to get the maximum of the content despite of no conducive learning environment.
EXPLAIN YOUR IDEA
The implementation of the idea will take three steps.
1) To identify people in the community and outside the community who are willing to support the idea
2) Make students be aware that there will be an award to compete for after every term
3) Identify students who performed well
4) Provide awards to top performers in a small community party
People like Eram Mzindu, ho live sin Kakuma one, Zone one, Block six, one of my gift winners who was not performing well in class before he hears about my idea of providing gifts and other students who needs to be motivated by little gifts will benefit from the idea.
If I had one month to test out the idea I would collect contributions from parents and other people who desire to help in increasing the excellence desire in students and then identify top performers and award them before the witness of parents and peers.
I have received feedback from parents and students and would wish to welcome all participants in the challenge.
TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF
I am a community champion from Kakuka Refugee Camp and I am working with local community to generate ideas around the challenge and share stories.
IS THIS AN IDEA THAT YOU OR YOUR ORGANIZATION WOULD LIKE TO TAKE FORWARD?
Yes, and I am looking for a partner working with refugee communities to implement this idea.
