EXPLAIN YOUR IDEA

My rising buddies, is picked from a concept of having best friends, in this case each refugee student will have three best friends, ict, peer mentor and the community. Students in private good schools have better knowledge and exposure than the students in refugee provisional schools or communities, so private schools will partner with us to work in refugee communities offering their students as peer mentors.
Each refugee student is assigned a student from a private school as a peer mentor or rising buddie, (borrowed from the pen-pal concept), from twos they are grouped into fours, six's compared to the nos, each group is assigned a community research task on different topics, Materials are uploaded on particular sights, during this period the groups will come in touch with communities learning skills from the experience and also experts in the community, they will exchange ideas and teach each other especially computer operation since some materials and task instructions are uploaded, peer mentors are met to guide their mentee, follow up on their participation, after four months, an exhibition is held to show case their discovery, this is meant to build confidence and networks

WHO BENEFITS?

this is designed for refugees students from 10-18 living in suburb areas or refugee settlements in Kampala, Uganda,

PROTOTYPE

identify private schools neighboring refugee settlements in the urban areas.
discuss with the schools of a possibility of providing their students as mentors to the refugee students.
carry out a two weeks , community research in refugee settlements and neighboring schools.
identify a group of people the students can present to their findings and experience in working together.
this group will give me feed back on the process, where to improve and how better it can work.
