I created Recycleopedia.com to help people recycle more at home

A few years back I had an idea to create an indepth recycling tool to help people work out what to put in the different bins at home, breaking down products into parts that could be recycled... a few years later and Recycleopedia was born!

Rather than other current recycling websites showing just a basic 'you can recycle plastic bottles at home' Recycleopedia shows you which bin the lid, label and bottle should go in and any addittional recycling locations nearby too.

It has now grown to cover all of the UK household recycling schemes plus over 22,000 recycling locations and more than 5,000 searchable item terms. You can also upload new recycling locations and products to the database, sharing recycling knowledge with everyone.

As well as www.recycleopedia.com we are now starting to work alongside local authorities to provide search tools for their websites and complementary mobile apps. Creating easy to use tools that everyone can use and contribute too.

And perhaps for our upcoming Ideas phase (starts tomorrow) you might think about a specific iteration or pivot for your site that you'd like to share as we delve into fresh thinking on our challenge topic. Hope to see you there!
