An app that shows you what you can do with your "garbage"

Perhaps this helps low-medium income families to save money, or maybe it is fun for kids or creative people. However, transmuting "garbage"into something useful or decorative definitely need a lot of thinking in advance. (i.e. every time you are about to purchase something, think about what you can do with the packaging or what you can do with the product after you've consumed its value)

Explain your idea in one sentence

Transmuting "garbage"into something useful or decorative with the help of mobile applications.
First of all an apps need to support camera and speech recognition.when you wanna do something about one of your "garbage", take a photo or talk to the app, wait till it comes up with many ideas on what and how you can do with it.

For example, if you take a picture using the app of an empty coke bottle, the app will list all the possible solutions for you and tell you the steps on how you can do it, it could become an ashtray, or cut it open to make a funnal. later on you can post your "product" or "invention" through the app to let everyone else know what you did, and of course it will apear on the list when other people take a picture of an empty coke bottle.
Possible solution i can think of on the app include but not limited to:
Water used from washing machine can become useful to clean the bathroom or kitchen tile.
Make sure Batteries are fully consumed because sometimes even though the batteries cant run your shaver or toothbrush it might still be used for a long time for your remote controller or clock.
Store old newspaper and use them as protection layer when you wanna store something in the garage,  or simly put them flat on the table as a placemat.

Transmuting "garbage"into something useful or decorative definitely needs a lot of thinking in advance. (i.e. every time you are about to purchase something, think about what you can do with the packaging or what you can do with the product after you've consumed its value)
For example, when buying instant coffees, think about what you can do with the packaging,  a glass jar can be used to store spices such as chilly powders or sugar and so on. A can maybe used to store engine oils, or contain even spinges in the kitchen sink  if you manage to make several holes on the bottom.

Describe how your idea would help form new habits and improve recycling at home

Everybody uses smart phones today, and sadly enough everyone is on their phone almost 12/7. It is simple and requires just a little bit of thinking in advance, and it saves money.

How might you design an early, lightweight experiment to further develop your idea?

Test the app beta version and see the ratings on application stores.

What aspects of your idea could benefit from the input of our OpenIDEO community?

Social aspects inspired me.

Great idea! I agree with teng's point"At present, waste has become a big problem in people's life and how to reuse and recycle them is a big challenge. " So people must learn how to reuse and recycle waste to protect our environment .
