Almost every shoe has rubber out-soles. It is such a waste when people get rid of shoes, and that precious rubber goes to waste. Rubber is very expensive, so we should try our best to reuse them. For this idea, I thought that we should take the rubber from the shoes, and turn it into tires of all kinds. We would then give them to teachers throughout the world for free because of the work they have to do. They are teaching America's future, and they deserve the best.

Which Nike Grind materials will your idea utilize?

  • Rubber Outsoles

How specifically will these materials be incorporated into your solution?

Tires are made of rubber, and rubber out-soles are made of rubber also. The rubber from the shoes will directly be incorporated into make rubber tires.

What is the current stage of development of your idea?

  • Research & Early Testing

Describe your target market. Who will benefit from your product?

All teachers of all kinds.

How will you scale your idea? Please describe in detail your plan to scale your concept.

There are a lot of obstacles that I will face. First of all, I would need a lot of shoes in order to make all these tires. For that reason, I think that we're going to mainly focus on smaller tires, such as bike tires.

How is your idea innovative?

My idea is innovative because you don't see any tires out there made of rubber out-soles. This is one of a kind and deserves the attention of everybody.

What inspired this idea?

Tires are very expensive, and teachers do not make that much money, so I thought that there should be a way to give tires back to teachers so that they do not need to spend their money on tires.

Tell us about yourself and your team. What is your background and experience?

I am a freshman in college, and I have zero prior experience.

In what city are you located?

Radford, Virginia

In what country are you located?

USA
