According to Nielsen’s Audience Insights, approximately 32 million people attend art and music festivals every year. Contemporary festivals present people with the opportunity to temporarily break from the social conventionality and constraints of everyday life, making them a hub of creative and cultural expression. It has also been brought to our attention by frequent festival-goers that it can oftentimes become difficult, among uniform rows of tents, to find your own. In order to provide for an artistic yet utilitarian means of making festival life as carefree as possible, our team has ideated tents made of paintable canvas that can be washed and reused at various events.
The tents will consist of five paintable and washable canvas panels that hook onto an aluminum frame. Connection joints will be used to link the tent poles. We are unsure of whether the Grind materials possess the durability and rigidity to construct stable tent framework, so we would likely need to outsource these materials. However, all other components will be built using Grind materials.
