Closed loop hydroponic pods for various plants in a vertical manner perfect for urban settings, indoor or outdoor. The pod itself has valves on top and bottom that transfer extra liquid from the top pods to the lower pods. A hookup is available for a hose that can be attached to the bottom of the pods, which recycles the water and nutrients. The system is customized in size and easily added to increase in size and shape.

Which Nike Grind materials will your idea utilize?

  • EVA Foam Injection Scraps
  • EVA Foam Flashings
  • EVA Foam Sheets & Blocks
  • EVA Foam Components
  • Footwear Fiber "Fluff"

How specifically will these materials be incorporated into your solution?

Compression molded EVA foam with rectangular cutouts frames the plants for the exterior of the pod. Various live plants rooted in a substrate layer in the middle made of compression molded
footwear fiber fluff.

What is the current stage of development of your idea?

Hi Hedi, i love your idea! It is the first time i saw a idea about Vertical garden and i think it would be popular in all the country. I hope you can shoot video after you make the product and sed it to social media. I'm sure more people will be interested in your products.

Hi Hedi, what a great idea. Vertical garden is getting popular nowadays and you can pretty much see them in most offices in Sydney ( where I based at the moment) . However, it focuses more about the decoration part only. I would be great if we could change people's mind about how they could get real benefits from these urban gardens. I believe there will be a potential growth to develop on creating pods that designed to grow veggies and herbs for households.
People are not only getting benefits from having some greenie in their house but also help to promote the sustainability living life style.

Also, I see that you are working on the prototype at the moment. Could you please update us on your idea.

I'm absolutely in favour of urban farming and anything that helps increase adoption.
Looking at this from a closed loop point of view, have you considered the nutrient source for doing the growing? It might be useful to propose a non-linear source for that too.

Also, I see that your submission says you're prototyping, have you managed to make a rigid material from the EVA foam, or is that a future development?

I think this is great, something straight out of a Sci-fi.
