FPC (Fiber Particulate Composite) is a very versatile material made from mainly agricultural waste. if used 100% FPC, products can be 100% biodegradable and compostable even under the oceans; if used by combining other recycled material, FPC acts as an effective "binder" which will not only enable the possibility of recycling of varieties of plastic waste, textile waste, and even ocean waste (the wood-floor like board in the picture contains 20% ocean waste, yet stronger than most WPC), but also posses the possibility of "Upcycling", with product performance/quality better than the virgin material/original design. The board on the left contains 30% recycled textile waste of PET/Cotton with varieties of color which durability shows more than double than most WPC in the market.
Almost all Nike Grind materials can be reused/recycled via FPC, with products such as Bike Pedal, Slipper, Mats, WPC & Building Materials or similar, even with many possible creative and inspiring products in the future.
An academic research paper with the title of “An Agricultural Waste Based Composite to Replace or Reduce the Use of Plastics”, presented at 2017 International Conference on Sustainable Development and Green Technology (SDGT 2017) is attached here to show the "Upcycling Capability" of FPC based product including FPC Yoga Mat (presentatoin file also attached) which uses 50% FPC to replace Natural Rubber, and the performance result is that FPC Yoga Mat is about equal or better than 100% Natural Ruber. Data comparison of FPC based building material with WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) in the market will be published later, maybe we can also include testing data from the products using Nike Grind materials to be published in the future.
