Idea Title

I'm Waxup - Melt Me!

Please include a visual (can be either 2D or 3D) representation/prototype of your concept. (required)

A classical paper cup is covered with the wax coat inside instead of the currently existing plastic liner. Already used cups are collected in special cup bins in cafes and restaurants. They are further transported to recycling facilities where Waxups are heated. When the temperature reaches melting point wax flows down into wax storage, and processed cups without wax coating go to recycling (chopping to a pulp with further production of new paper-based items).

Collected wax is reused in new Waxup production or sold for other purposes.

This solution addresses which of the following:

  • Cold Cup Only

How is your concept recoverable?

Cups go forward to recycling. And wax is recycled as well.

How have you incorporated additional sustainability attributes (beyond recoverability) into your solution?

The material is completely recoverable due to the feasible separation of cup components. Economically sustainable solution for disposable cup production.

What regions do you plan to address with your solution (and how will you accomplish this)?

Our operation area is the whole world, except countries with hot weather conditions (in order to prevent spontaneous melting).

Describe your target market. Who will benefit from your product?

Our global idea is to encourage world corporations to shift towards more environmentally friendly and green products. The target market is both producing and consuming business parties. Waxup solution will allow producing cups from secondary materials thus decreasing the rate of deforestation and reducing production expenditures. Waxup will provide the idea of our sustainable solution. The cup design includes the instruction how to treat with this cup in a way "Drop me to my bin". Cups are collected in a certain trash bin.

What is the current stage of development of your idea?

  • Research & Early Testing

What are the biggest challenges you are facing today? What are existing gaps in your solution?

Making prototypes of our desire product and technological line.

Mentorship Needs (please select up to 3)
