Please include a visual (can be either 2D or 3D) representation/prototype of your concept. (required)

  • massive amounts of eggs are used daily on the planet, for example in the production of foodstuffs such as confectionery or for the production of vaccines. the eggshells are a waste that can be used to create the inside of the NextGen Cup. Wool is an insulating and waterproof product and can be the outer shell of the NextGen Cup.
  • two high-tech materials that industry uses in many sectors and which have great recycling quality. eggshell, predominantly made of calcium carbonate, is a natural fertilizer while wool, in organic farming, is able to increase the soil's ability to retain water.
  • in Switzerland and Italy various companies already active in the field of natural recyclable materials can be of support for the realization of NextGen Cup structure addressing these two materials.

This solution addresses which of the following:

  • Hot / Cold Fiber Cup
  • Cup Lids
  • Cup Sleeve
  • Cup Liner

How is your concept recoverable?

these fibers can be recovered in containers for recycling materials like glass or PET and then dismantled and be reused for organic farming. a great advantage, being 100% ecological, it can never be polluting even if it should be lost in nature.

How have you incorporated additional sustainability attributes (beyond recoverability) into your solution?

this solution incorporates sustaining sheep farmers in their millennial knowledge and their survival, while textile industry is increasing use of synthetic fibers all over the world causing great environmental damage.

What regions do you plan to address with your solution (and how will you accomplish this)?

there is no limit of region to address this solution, since these two natural materials are available everywhere. once model and features are defined it can be accomplished anywhere.

Describe your target market. Who will benefit from your product?

anyone can benefit from this solution because it is not limited. the concept is so simple and clear it cannot be misunderstood. the emphasis is on the fact that materials used are 100% ecological, cannot pollute in any way and safeguards an agricultural sector that is nowadays erroneously underestimated, the sheep farmers. the design will identify with the colors of the raw materials, earth colors to interact with the wooly touch. for the cold fiber cup interaction can take place with colors that vary between the blues. in order to bring the two parts closer, evidence can be made by visually mentioning on the cup the generality of the shepherd and the sheep.

What is the current stage of development of your idea?

  • Research & Early Testing

What are the biggest challenges you are facing today? What are existing gaps in your solution?

to find the ideal solution it is necessary initially to visit companies that could produces the cups. such companies are scattered over a vast territory. the greatest challenge is to find the means to finance trips to visit these places and find support for R&D.

Mentorship Needs (please select up to 3)

  • Engineering and Manufacturing
  • Legal
  • Fundraising / Finance

Tell us about yourself and your team. What is your background and experience?

a degree from IED Milan in interior design allows me to experience mainly restauration of old town houses in mountain villages. traveling often I glimpse trends and current experiences direct me towards a greater awareness for nature.

In what city are you located?

Gordola

In what country are you located?

Switzerland

What is your legal / organizational structure? (if applicable)

not applicable

Please describe how becoming a Top Idea will support the growth of your concept.

funding would be used for the fundamental search of a conceptual partner for the realization of the cup. Once this phase is concretized it becomes a copy/paste method for the realization of the cup in any predefined place.

How did you hear about the Challenge?

  • Someone in my network (word of mouth)
